About This Place

Located at 135 Main St #2 in charming Plymouth, NH, Thai Smile offers an inviting gateway to the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia, skillfully blending authentic Thai, Japanese, and seafood cuisines under one roof. This cozy, family-run restaurant warmly welcomes diners with friendly service and a menu that sparks the palate with a delightful spectrum of tastes, textures, and colors.

Stepping inside Thai Smile, you’ll immediately notice its unpretentious, homey atmosphere—reminiscent of a classic diner but infused with a subtle Asian flair that sets the stage for a comforting, yet exotically satisfying dining experience. It’s the kind of place perfect for a casual meal with family or friends, where generous portions and prompt service ensure you feel right at home.

The menu is a vibrant tapestry weaving together traditional Thai staples and Japanese favorites, allowing you to embark on a culinary adventure. Start your meal with fragrant and boldly spiced Tom Yum Soup, a harmonious blend of lemongrass, lime, and chili that awakens your senses. If you crave something lighter, the steamed Edamame offers a simple yet savory nibble, while the Summer Rolls bring fresh, crisp textures coupled with delicate herbs.

Sushi enthusiasts will delight in the Sashimi Platter featuring two pieces each of fresh, tender cuts, or explore creative rolls like the creamy Dynamite Roll 8 and the sweet, subtle crunch of the Sweet Potato Roll. For a heartier meal, dishes such as the Pad Thai — rice noodles sautéed with tofu, egg, scallions, and bean sprouts, finished with a sprinkle of ground peanut — deliver a classic taste of Thailand that’s both satisfying and comforting. The house variation, combining chicken, shrimp, and tofu, elevates this dish to a richer, more savory experience.

If you’re in the mood for something more daring, the Beef Macadamia is a standout, with stir-fried beef mingling perfectly with macadamia nuts, bell peppers, and mushrooms in a subtly spicy chili sauce. Or, savor the creamy and aromatic Thai Green Curry Chicken that bathes tender chicken and vegetables in a luscious, herbaceous sauce. The Fried Basil Fried Rice and the exotic Crab Fried Rice offer a delightful balance of flavors and textures that entice with every bite.

Thai Smile also excels at satisfying noodle cravings with options like the Bangkok Noodle (Pad See Ew) featuring wide rice noodles sautéed with fresh broccoli, carrots, and egg in a gluten-free sauce, and the intriguingly named Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao), known for its bold, spicy kick. These dishes showcase the restaurant’s authentic approach and attention to detail in crafting vibrant, well-balanced meals.

No meal here is complete without sampling the tantalizing desserts or beverages unique to this locale. The Fried Ice Cream with Fried Banana is a must-try — a luscious sweet treat that leaves a lasting impression with its crispy exterior and creamy, cool inside. And for a refreshing twist, the popular Thai Bubble Tea offers a playful mix of textures and subtle sweetness, perfectly complementing the savory fare.

Customers repeatedly praise Thai Smile for its excellent food quality, quick service, and friendly staff. While the ambiance leans toward casual simplicity rather than upscale elegance, the focus clearly remains on delivering authentic flavors and generous portions. Families appreciate the kid-friendly meals and accommodating options, while regulars rave about favorites like the green curry with brown rice, peanut chicken, and exceptional sushi rolls.

Conveniently located with available street parking and surrounded by local shops and eateries, Thai Smile is a vibrant gem in Plymouth’s dining scene. Whether you’re seeking a comforting bowl of phở noodles or an adventurous sushi platter, this welcoming spot invites you to savor the bright, bold, and heartwarming flavors of Southeast Asia without leaving New England.

This appears to be a family run restaurant. I ordered the miso soup and the pad eggplant with extra tofu. The food was good, though nothing special. The service is friendly. The price is relatively low.

We loved this delicious Thai food on a rainy day recently. The servers are so friendly. The food comes quickly. Very hot food. The green curry with brown rice was my favorite. The kids meals were good & good portion size. We noticed they sell bubble tea on the menu, but we did not try it (next time!) There is street parking available, and many shops and restaurants in the area.

We were able to get in without a reservation but the place was pretty packed. We had the veggie tempura, satay chicken, pad Thai and red curry. All of it was really delicious. The portions are huge! I love that they let you add more protein/veggies to suit what you’d like. Service was quick and efficient.

There isn't much of an atmosphere, kind of like diner inside. But the good is awesome and we are always served fast. Bobba drinks are really good, so is the sushi and excellent fried rice and crab rangoons. We love Thai Smile.

Lots of selection in menu. What we had was as good as we've gotten at similar places. Good value for money.
